Volvo Group Vice President/Portfolio Manager in Overland Park, Kansas


Daily management of Collections, Customer Service, Collateral Administration, Insurance and National Account Departments. Assists with establishing company policies and practices and monitors compliance.

Core Responsibilities

  • Serves as a problem solving resource to the position’s direct reports in situations requiring management intervention

  • Develops and recommends major policy and practices for senior management approval

  • Ultimate responsibility for delinquency, repossessions, modifications, insurance tracking, claims, title lien perfection, and lease purchase program compliance

  • Personally manages customer contact on the highest-level problem loans

  • Personally manages carrier relationships on lease purchase programs

  • Provides ongoing training to direct reports and their staffs on company policies and practices

  • Monitors individual employee performance and develops strategies to improve weaknesses

  • Screening and interviewing potential new hires and recommending candidates for additional interviews with senior management

  • Works with dealer managers to resolve potential repossessions by negotiating loan assumptions, substitutions of collateral or other alternative resolutions

  • Works with dealer branch F & I managers to resolve collateral administration issues

  • Staff scheduling to optimize coverage periods

  • Manages GPS device distribution, installation and monitoring

Skills & Knowledge: (when applicable)

  • Working knowledge of the Uniform Commercial Code, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the U. S. Bankruptcy Code

  • Skilled in the use of loan management software programs

  • Experience with legal processes relative to debt collection

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, banking or finance or equivalent experience

  • Five years’ experience as a lending or collection’s officer in the secured credit industry with responsibility for collections on originated loans

  • Five years’ successful experience with managing and directing a staff of employees
