Volvo Group District Finance Manager in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

The following position within Volvo Financial Services USA reports to the Regional Sales Manager - Central , and has a flexible location in the Midwest (preferably Chicago / Milwaukee area).

District Finance Manager

The District Finance Manager (DFM) represents VFS USA through strong, loyal, value-added working relationships with our Volvo Truck and Mack Truck distributors, our Volvo and Mack Truck OEM counterparts and our mutual retail customers. From their field location, DFMs work effectively as an integral part of VFS operations to provide service to all stakeholders in the best possible way. DFMs must achieve their measurable sales and operational results and display specified core skills and behaviors. The DFM reports to a Regional Sales Manager and typically works in a home office.

Core Responsibilities

  • Meets or exceeds established quotas for “Retail Volume” in loan and lease volumes

  • Meets or exceeds “Dealer Penetration” goals which is defined as the number of new Volvo trucks financed as a percentage of new Volvo trucks delivered to the end user for a given territory

  • Meets or exceeds established goals for transactional spread and profitability

  • Effectively manages the overall territory through analysis of potential dealer and customer opportunities

  • Develops actionable and measurable territory plans to achieve targeted goals

  • Directly contacts and interacts with Volvo and Mack Truck field and support representatives to ensure that Volvo/Mack Financial Services is supporting the effort and strategy of the OEM’s, Mack and Volvo

  • Supports Mack and Volvo OEM’s efforts on conquest and targeted customers by team selling and bundling of the truck sale with our financial services

  • Tracks and enters sales activities, plans, progress and results into a contact management software application

  • Actively participates as a member of the VFS USA Truck Financial Services team to share best practices and procedures and serve our customers and dealers in the best possible way

  • Support creation of partnership alliances

  • Build, develop and present highly effective presentations

  • Other duties as may be required

Education and Experience Required

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Marketing or closely related; master’s degree a plus

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Financial Services

  • Proven financial services expertise in the trucking industry indicated

  • Proven expertise in financial analysis including the ability to analyze dealer financial statements and operations

  • Appropriate expertise in sales/marketing, strategic forecasting/planning and implementation

  • Work experience structuring and negotiating finance transactions

  • Experience generating effective customer responses that are consistently reliable

  • Understands Salesforce.com and SuperTrump or similar tools

  • Direct experience working in a professional environment where sound business judgment, attention to detail, a fast pace and a flexible and adaptable approach are valued

  • Effective level of ambition and ability to understand team and corporate objectives

  • Experience in an environment with a focus on customer service and process improvement

Required Competencies and Skills

  • Strong skills in financing capital equipment and related business law requirements

  • Understands the principles of leasing; tax aspects, cash management, off-balance sheet, and lease versus buy decision making

  • Displayed problem solving and customer service skills in a financial products environment

  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven ability to develop and Implement strategic Marketing Action Plan (MAP) sales strategies

  • Must have strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast paced, demanding environment

  • A high level of integrity and a positive customer and quality focus with ability to work within and in support of a team environment

  • Ability to work effectively with other business leaders and their organizations with specific emphasis on the product companies supported by VFS

  • Innovative problem solving, research, qualitative, quantitative, and analytical skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact and influence at all levels both internally and externally

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to provide mentoring and coaching that ensures successful implementation of new processes, programs and products

  • Integrity and a positive customer and dealer focus with ability to work within a strong but diverse leadership team

  • Computer skills including MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint, Design Tools

  • Must have excellent written and verbal skills. Must be comfortable making formal presentations to the senior management and Executive level

  • Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English; additional languages a plus
