Volvo Group Supplier Relationship Manager in Macungie, Pennsylvania

Core Responsibilities

  • Secure the training, understanding of suppliers to lead them to fulfill Volvo Group company’s expectations utilizing:

  • Supplier Education Programs (Supplier Delivery Manual, Supplier Day)

  • Supplier Visits

  • MMOG/LE assessments

  • Coaching in lean logistics/manufacturing principles

  • Dispatch Precision

  • Etc….

  • Utilizing “Problem Solving”, “Root Cause Analysis”, “Continuous Improvement” methodologies within the supply chain to continuously improve overall level of supply chain performance

  • Professional use of the MMOG/LE audit/document to evaluate supplier logistics competency level and monitor their improvements

  • Work closely with internal teams to resolve/manage supplier crisis situations by mitigating impact to the manufacturing sites

  • Strong oral, written communication & presentation skills

  • Must be able to work/lead within cross functional groups to accomplish specific goals

  • Perform other duties as required

Critical Competencies

  • Advanced understanding of “Lean Manufacturing” principles

  • Expertise in developing, teaching & leading “Continuous Improvement” activities

  • Expertise in understanding & implementation of different types of supply chain flows

  • Expertise in problem solving techniques & activities

  • General understanding of manufacturing systems and processes

  • MMOG/LE (Lead Assessor status)

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong skills in Excel, Access, PowerPoint

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or may be offset by:

  • Supply Chain/Logistics experience

  • Minimum 3 years

  • Preferred 5 years

  • APICS certification
