Mission/purpose of the job

The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) shall execute on the respective TD/BA strategy and business needs. The HRBP is responsible for implementing and communicating HR policies, directives and processes in the organization and ensures compliance /alignment. The HRBP will provide HR operational support to managers which will ensure that HR operations deliver the talent and performance necessary for achieving business goals. The HRBP also supports management teams and participates in selected management meetings as needed and on ad hoc basis.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • The primary responsibility of the HRBP is to guide and support managers on how to handle HR related issues

  • The HRBP support managers in the following areas:

  • Organization development and change activities

  • Support on request the employee engagement work (VGAS facilitation)

  • Recruitment and sourcing based on strategic work force plan

  • Career development activities

  • Salary review process and individual salary setting

  • Rehabilitation issues

  • Handling of disciplinary issues

  • Secure that the organization complies with local employment laws and legislations and be involved in labor negotiations as appropriate

  • Good working knowledge of all HR processes and policies and the HR Service Delivery Model and securing that they are followed within applicable org unit/s

  • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of HR reporting data including headcount and workforce planning forecasts within their respective organizations for employees and consultants

  • Proactively build and promote strong employee trust and open communication between all levels through the Volvo Way and Volvo’s Code of Conduct

  • Works closely with HR Center of Expertise and HR Services (or equivalent for non SDM countries) as well as relevant HR Business Partner network to ensure effective joint delivery of HR services to the assigned organizations

Preferred educational and/or training qualifications and certificates

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business administration or related field or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 7-10 years of HR experience

  • Preferred having an HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) or willing to obtain one with 1 year

  • Demonstrated high integrity and ethics

Preferred experience and knowledge

  • The HR culture requires a diplomatic, assertive and dynamic individual who is proactive in communications and able to develop effective relationships at all levels within the company

  • Solid analytical skills and demonstrated ability to solve problems quickly with high quality

  • High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted initiatives in conjunction with day- to- day activities independently
