Volvo Group Financial Analyst in Hagerstown, Maryland

Key responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Partner and coach business teams in order to deliver superior financial performance

  • Provide financial guidance and analysis to generate positive financial results

  • Employ a continuous improvement mindset in creating improvement solutions within assigned business area(s) and Business Control

  • Take active role with departmental budgeting, monthly estimating and gap analysis between actual and planned results

  • Ensure accurate and on time reporting in accordance with internal audit and financial policy guidelines

  • Collect data, perform analysis and report key performance indicators

  • Recognize patterns in data, information and events, draw logical conclusions, and make recommendations for action

  • Interface with Volvo financial community on financial matters

  • Provide financial expertise on projects and business cases

  • Perform economic/financial research and analysis for use in the development of business strategies and tactics and in subsequent appraisal of results

  • Participate in global networks

Key targets and results

Fulfilment of financial and operational KPI’s for Business Control such as:

  • Forecast accuracy

  • Savings generated

  • On-time-delivery

  • Budget Variance

  • Return on PPE investments

  • Compliance with GAP

Essential educational and/or training qualifications and certificates

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Industrial Engineering or related fields

  • MBA preferred

Preferred experience and knowledge

  • 2-5 Years’ experience in accounting, financial analysis, engineering or a related industry

  • Forecasting, budgeting and results analysis

  • SAP and financial reporting applications preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Teamwork oriented, with ability to develop and maintain strong peer relationships

  • Integrity and trust, position requires exposure to confidential information

  • Customer focus

  • Standing alone, learning on the fly, have perseverance, self-development

  • Drive for self-improvement and participation in continuing education programs

Necessary technical/functional/language skills

  • As all documentation is in English, proficiency in the English language is required

  • Working knowledge of MS Office Excel application
