Responsibilities / Main tasks

Powertrain Engineering USA organization has the full responsibility for the Application Center USA. Included in PE USA is also our office in Greensboro. The organization takes the product ownership role and optimizes complete powertrain systems through usage of components tailored for each application. PE USA is an organization consisting of roughly 250 passionate employees in Hagerstown and Greensboro.

The Chief Engineer is the main interface with the Platform sites to negotiate requirements and specific application needs for local markets, including future strategies, road maps and balancing Platform and Application sites needs preserving commonality and maximizing customer offer as well as arbitration of technical conflicts. Work closely with Powertrain Engineering Strategic Development, Product Planning (PPL) and Technology, Product & Project (TPP) organizations to ensure pre requisites requirements and technical roadmaps. Review verification plans to ensure product quality and maximize verification synergy between projects and sites and provide technical input and feedback in Root Cause Analysis for quality and maintenance related issues.

Your first task will be to shape together with your colleagues in the PE USA Leadership team the organizational structure for the whole site. PE USA will be organized in Product Systems, Complete Powertrain and a more agile way of working.

  • BS in Engineering is required. Advanced technical or business degree preferred

  • You have a proven leadership experience

  • Foster the development partnerships with customers, suppliers and Sales Organization

  • You are well experienced in the automotive industry especially within the area of forefront technology development and in the Powertrain domain

  • Experienced in Quality tools and Project Management

  • International and domestic travel may be required
