Mission/Purpose of Job

The Compensation and Benefits Analyst is a senior position within Volvo Group’s US HR Center of Expertise and supports both the compensation and benefits teams on strategic initiatives undertaken to ensure the ongoing competitiveness, communication and administration of Volvo’s core compensation and benefits programs. The Compensation and Benefits Analyst conducts analyses and provides support as needed to ensure ongoing compensation and benefits program compliance.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Compensation:

  • Supports the organization’s job creation and management process, maintaining our database of jobs and job postings and ensuring appropriate alignment with the corporation’s Global Job Catalogue

  • Monitors US HRIS to ensure ongoing accuracy of compensation related data entries. Educates HRBP’s on sources and correction of errors

  • Working with the CoE’s Compensation Manager and global colleagues, conducts market analysis and whole job slotting to provide recommendations for placement of newly created jobs

  • Partners with our HR Services Comp and Benefits Analyst in facilitating completion of our cloud based salary planning process, assisting US HRBP’s across our Divisions and Business Areas

  • Reviews proposed salary adjustments for conformance to established guidelines, policies and practices. Educates HRBP’s in order to build policy conformance

  • Maintains Function SharePoint site providing HRBP’s with direct access to the compensation tools they frequently utilize

Benefits Health, Wellness and Retirement analysis and administration:

  • Supports the Manager Health and Welfare Strategy and Director, Benefits Strategy in a variety of initiatives including benefit plan design and analysis

  • Supports the preparation of management reports to provide plan performance / success indicators

  • Serves as subject matter expert supporting HR Business partners helping eliminate gaps in service / support between providers and employees

  • Supports monthly, quarterly and annual reviews of the plan and ongoing data review activities

  • Supports the creation of presentations about health and welfare plans

  • Supports design of annual benefits and manages open enrollment process including HRIS design and testing, open enrollment communications and training, and audit/transfer of open enrollment data

  • Monitors HRIS Benefits needs and designs new or modifies existing systems to meet changing requirements

  • Assists Director, Benefit Strategy with retirement plan administrative support

Essential Educational and/or Training Qualifications and Certificates

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Human Resources preferred

  • CCP or CEBS certification preferred

  • A minimum of 5+ years of related experience

  • Ability to present numerical information in a creative and objective manner; high level of MS Office skills

  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
