Volvo Group Manager, All Makes Product Management in Greensboro, North Carolina

Purpose of Position

The successful candidate will maximize the Volvo Group’s parts market share and profitability on commodity items by providing leadership and direction to the Aftermarket Product Managers. This position is designed to develop people, program strategy, price strategy, and industry knowledge and to develop short and long term business plans. The position will own the Private Label (Road Choice) products and sales commitments.

The Manager, All Makes Product Management is responsible for growing the parts business through strategy development for supplier and private label products. They will lead a team of five Product Managers who drive the strategy in order to deliver results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for the aftermarket All-makes Product Managers

  • Become the voice of the All Makes team with frequent interaction with the field sales and dealer network teams creating a pipeline of products and programs for identifying growth

  • Lead the teaching of the product managers on the Marketing 4P’s and ensuring hiring, development and annual evaluation contribute to the career growth of a team of aftermarket professionals

  • Lead supplier relationships focused on the top revenue and profit producing products. Drive supplier scorecards and culture that ensures growth and maximize profitability for the Volvo Group

  • Lead and ensure product manager understanding of the top repair events thus driving focus on owning the repair event and maximizing customer satisfaction and profitability

  • Manage, motivate, and direct Product Managers to understand and leverage business tools such as the Select Part Store/Parts ASIST, FleetPreferred, and MAPP to ensure customer satisfaction and parts and service growth

  • Ensure parts and service offerings appeal to first and subsequent owners of Volvo, Mack and all makes of vehicles to maximize customer retention

  • Manage aftermarket suppliers to negotiate programs, pricing, and training for both Volvo and Mack Brands and identify growth potential opportunities

  • Manage the relationship with pricing maximizing Price vs. Value offering while growing a diverse product portfolio across multiple brands

  • Lead and measure with data the execution of marketing and sales programs at the point of sale (end user and dealer)

Experience and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Marketing Possess a proficient understanding/ knowledge of current vehicle salvage values and products in the heavy-duty trucking industry

  • Seven years of marketing, business development or account management experience, preferably with supervisory experience

  • Prior professional exposure to the automotive or heavy duty trucking industry preferred but not required

  • Experience in leveraging brand objectives to deliver impactful marketing strategies

  • Solid grasp of marketing principles including the 4P’s, Price / Value, and digital marketing platforms

  • Working knowledge of digital marketing concepts and the foundations for lead generations through a two-step distribution network
