Information about the Volvo Group IT Graduate Program:

The Volvo Group IT Graduate Program gives you a unique opportunity to gain a holistic view of the Volvo Group IT and to kick-start your career through international assignments, work in different parts of the organization, networking, and professional and personal development. Upon completion of the program, you will continue to work in the position you were recruited in, either in the same delivery or in another assignment.

The program runs for 11 months starting in end of August 2018 and will include 6 countries. The program includes a combination of common and individual graduate activities and day-to-day work at the home department. It also consists of common development activities at different locations globally, where the participants meet and network.

The program also includes learning activities in your home organization and an international assignment.

During the program you will participate in training sessions covering fundamental Group concepts, such as diversity, personal development, project management, cross cultural communication etc.

You will be having the following role: Developer – Emerging Technologies


You will work in a project or delivery team, where global complexity and business innovation are part of your daily work. You will have a home base together with colleagues working in the same field as you, where you share knowledge and experiences.

Our different IT roles (Developer) are assessed on different levels and together we will plan for your professional development. Tasks would include

The tasks will differ depending on which delivery you will be assigned to. As a member of the daily work in your assignment and the Graduate program you will be involved in a lot of different activities: e.g.

  • Identify ways that Emerging Technologies, such as Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Machine Learning, for example, could assist in providing value to users in the Volvo Group

  • Participate in the development of a global strategy for how to work with Emerging Technologies

  • Put ideas into action by developing pilots, proofs of concept, and production applications

In the initial steps of your professional development, you will work close together with senior colleagues.

Overall requirements

  • Master of Science, Computer Science or equivalent

  • Valid work-permit for applied country if not citizen

  • Excellent spoken and written English (additional languages are given merit)

  • Maximum of two years previous work-experience after graduation


  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent. MS or MBA a plus
