Volvo Group Intern: Remanufacturing/Proprietary Parts (Fall 2018) in Greensboro, North Carolina

Summary

The internship role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment and to support/promote the students’ career goals through contacts with professionals in their fields of study. The internship experience enables students to participate in professional activities for Volvo Group Spare Parts by working on important and innovative projects. Internships are structured learning experiences where interns and our full time professionals work together on projects within their selected organizations. These assignments allow students to integrate knowledge and skills in manners that are mutually beneficial to the students and Volvo Group.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate gaps in our portfolio

  • Make recommendations to fill the gaps with remanufactured products

  • Help to develop and launch programs

  • Help with transitions occurring with core management, core financial incentives, core process and groupings

  • Improve marketing through systems and cataloging of remanufactured parts via updates and enhancements

  • Technical research as required for cross reference purposes

  • Field contact via phone and/or email of in-person visits that will help influence success with our programs

Essential Skills and Required Experience

  • Excel; basic data analysis

  • Good communication skills

  • Understanding of trucking industry (specifically powertrain)

Minimum Education Requirements

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a business degree at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship

  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
