Volvo Group Intern: Project Management, Purchasing (Fall 2018) in Greensboro, North Carolina


The internship role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment, and to support/promote the graduate's career goals through contact with professionals in their field of study. The internship experience enables students to participate in professional activities for Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing (GTP) by working on important and innovative projects. Internships are structured learning experiences where interns and our full time professionals work together on projects within their selected organization. The internship allows students to integrate knowledge and skills in a manner that is mutually beneficial to the student and Volvo GTP.


  • Work closely with Project Manager, Purchasing (PMP) to drive and execute Purchasing activities in cross-functional product Projects

  • Gather and coordinate cross-functional input from Project Managers, Buyers, Engineers, Quality, Studio and other stakeholders regarding project deliverables

  • Assist in administrative tracking of Project deliverables, time plans, sourcing plans and budgets

  • Follow up with Project stakeholders as necessary


  • Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field, preferably in Purchasing and/or Project Management, at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship

  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
