Volvo Group Intern: Pricing Aftermarket (Fall 2018) in Greensboro, North Carolina
The internship role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment and to support/promote the students’ career goals through contacts with professionals in their fields of study. The internship experience enables students to participate in professional activities for Volvo Group Spare Parts by working on important and innovative projects. Internships are structured learning experiences where interns and our full time professionals work together on projects within their selected organizations. These assignments allow students to integrate knowledge and skills in manners that are mutually beneficial to the students and Volvo Group.
About this internship: Develop and implement part pricing strategies for key portfolio segments influenced by a part’s lifecycle, competition, warranty, and value driven attributes for all Volvo/Mack, US and Canadian part product offerings.
Create and improve attribute, lifecycle, competitive, and reputation price methods that will increase sales and profitability for Volvo/Mack parts
Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams for alignment, integrity, and collection of part attributes
Apply statistical strategies that communicate pricing value and strengthen price perception
Align price method segmentation with local and International Pricing, Marketing, and Sales teams
Research and apply price points for reputation parts to determine market leaders and best alternatives
Create and analyze financial impacts from proposed pricing methods and give recommendations to influence Senior Management and drive business value
Optimize a price matrix structure for methods with competition and customer value perception inputs.
Set guidelines and rules for implementation and continuous use
Minimum Education Requirements
Applicants must currently be enrolled and pursuing a degree in Business, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or Math (MBA preferred) at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
