Features, Verification & Validation is a global organization using deep customer knowledge to break down customer features into technical requirements. We drive validation plans to reach the requested feature level and secure end customer satisfaction. We also manage the verification plans thanks to world class physical and virtual tests on the complete vehicle such as durability testing in rigs, fuel economy testing, reliability testing with customers and a variety of simulations and tests with trucks on proving grounds and open roads. Our skilled and engaged teams are located in Gothenburg, Lyon, Greensboro, Curitiba, Bangalore and Ageo.

Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to provide engineering support for VALIDATION & VERIFICATION of new product development. This may include: mechanical labor, prototype development, installation and troubleshooting of instrumentation and sensors, setup and maintenance of test rigs, perform tests under direction of test engineer (which will include driving and travel).

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) - data input, basic calculations, charts, and MTS Test Suite or equivalent

  • Safe laboratory practice knowledge and skills

  • Strong organizational skills to deal with large numbers of samples for testing and compiling resulting data

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Experience using shop tools to make things from wood, metal and plastic

  • Experience using MTS Load Frames – both electro-mechanical and hydraulic

  • Ability to develop new and non-standard test methods within the MTS software

  • Must have creativity in determining how and when to use the right equipment for a test

  • Must be able to handle/prioritize multiple concurrent tasks with critical deadlines

  • A demonstrated excellence in customer service

  • Strong organizational and analytical problem solving skills

  • Strong work ethic and "team" attitude

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and demonstrate effective initiative

  • Maintain a current CDL in order to operate vehicles

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • High School Diploma, Associates Degree preferred

  • Min 8 years' experience in a testing environment

  • Heavy Truck testing experience

  • Strong Knowledge of hydraulics, load cells, instrumentation

  • Complete understanding of Servo Hydraulic equipment

  • Complete understanding of Load cells

  • Complete understanding of strain gauges and strain gauge techniques

  • Should be able teach new employees & help develop Tech 1-2's / Should set good examples, keep positive attitude, & be flexible to the product development environment

  • Needs Strong understanding of Protus, tech tool, EBD & KOLA

  • Must have Strong PC skills - Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.

  • Must be willing to travel

  • Must maintain a Class A CDL
