North America Purchasing is an organization within GTP supporting Volvo Trucks North America (VTNA) and Mack brands on the purchasing related activities both on Automotive and indirect purchasing. Supplier Quality & Development (SQ&D) North America is an organization within GTP representing a yearly purchased spend of $2.5B USD.


As EE Manager SQ&D GTP NA, you drive and manage performance of your team from a QDCF-TSR stand point. You will lead a team of SQA Managers in your area of scope to secure the suppliers improve their performances and to bring improvement in the current supply chain process thus creating value for the customers. You will also promote a strong collaboration between SQE and Managers within SQ&D in the region and globally thereby capitalizing on global knowledge and competence sharing within SQ&D.

Main Responsibilities

· Be a member in GTPNA SQD vehicle leadership team and in an active way contribute to the

development of the department

  • You would drive and lead the SQ&D activities in accordance with defined strategies and targets

  • Ensure that there is close interaction with suppliers, and develop and work with the team to ensure common strategy is driven and communicated to the suppliers

  • Ensuring the best Supplier is selected, working with strong collaboration with other team securing good supplier selections done with the appropriate capabilities in project development, technology and manufacturing

  • Manage the fulfillment of APQP & PPAP for projects and product maintenance

  • Co-owns SQ&D Knowledge, and actively lead knowledge sharing within geographic scope

  • Secure quality, capacity and cost targets and KPI fulfillment

  • Secure that the quality requirements are transferred to the other departments through the quality plans.

  • Secure needed communication with cross-functional teams

  • Manage QDCF- TSR targets of the supplier

  • Evaluate team members

  • Secure and Manage resources within his/her area

  • Responsible for operating expenses

  • Work in accordance with the Volvo processes, the Code of Conduct and the Volvo Values

  • You will also manage interactions with Engineering in development of technical roadmaps, ensure all the available data is ready for Supplier selection committee/board

Competence & Experience

  • University degree in Engineering/technology and/or Business Administration

  • Strong Leadership skills

  • Knowledgeable in current and future business trends, technology and markets in the area of Electronics and Electronics in automotive or advanced technology domain

  • Able to execute in a global organization

  • Face problems and act quickly and directly. Provide direct & actionable feedback

  • Able to handle uncertainty and the unexpected. Holds things together during tough times

  • Take good decisions in line with internal stakeholders, with risks and opportunities and alternative solutions in mind

  • Able to manage diversity and offer opportunities for personal/professional development

  • Able to build an effective team with a common objective and strong morale and spirit


  • Ensure within the framework of the Purchasing manual, the mandate to fulfill the above described responsibilities on Continental and global geographical breadth

  • Stop purchase of material not conforming to quality demands

  • Make recommendation for approval or refusal of the sourcing cases presented in relevant Sourcing Committee
