Volvo Group Digital Communication Manager in Greensboro, North Carolina

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This position plays a key role in creating internal and external awareness of VFS and building its market relevance through informative channels, content, events and other opportunities to communicate our organization’s messages, products and services. The role aims to position VFS as an integrated, value-added part of the Volvo Group total offer, and helps drive our mission to be best captive in industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute VFS’ digital communication plans and activities that position VFS as an integrated, value-added part of the Volvo Group total offer and advocates in ways that strengthens VFS’ market position

  • Coordinate with Group, brand partner and VFS colleagues across functions to create digital message plans, content, and support materials to reach our different stakeholders

  • Plan and drive VFS employee advocacy communications strategy in digital arena

  • Actively monitor VFS presence on Group and brand partner local channels and supports VFS colleagues with development of content to meet local and global digital targets

  • Create and develop print and digital email, video, photography, images, and other communication material for internal and external audiences

  • Ensure VFS content on targeted channels is frequent and relevant. Report results to business

  • Assist HR and other functions with content postings as needed on channels such as LinkedIn and Yammer

  • Help develop articles, white papers and by-lines, and other thought leadership positioning material

  • Devise strategies to drive traffic to VFS related channels using a range of market visibility techniques, including SEO and PPC

  • Track customer conversion rates and make improvements to channels, content and approach

  • Help maintain the usability, design, content and conversions of VFS online presence

  • Monitor new technologies, VFS brand partners, and competitor digital activities to keep at the forefront of developments in digital communication

  • Represent VFS in Volvo Group and brand partner digital forums

  • Inform, counsel, and train VFS personnel on Volvo Group, brand partner on VFS digital practices, and maintains directives

  • Manage VFS digital library and assets. Supports Group and VFS market image needs through counsel and coordinated activities such as photo shoots and image purchases

  • Supports the planning and coordination of VFS events such as the Leadership Summit

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications required. Post-graduate degree preferred

  • Minimum 7 years in a marketing or communications related field

  • Financial services related industry experience preferred

COMPETENCIES & SKILLS

  • Experience in developing and executing a digital communication strategy

  • Strong understanding of selecting and maximizing communication channel use

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media

  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing skills are essential, including ability to present concepts verbally

  • Ability to write communications and develop messages that target dealer and customer audiences

  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills. Excellent proficiency with working with others virtually

  • Strong understanding of current online marketing concepts, strategy and best practices

  • Experience in ecommerce, SEO, PPC, email marketing, and social media

  • Experience with multi-brand corporate identity guideline management

  • Excellent organizational, planning, project management and time management skills

  • Highly motivated, creative, and self-driven

  • Experience with interacting at all levels of the organization

  • Advanced proofreading and presentation skills

  • Ability to prioritize and influence stakeholders

  • Excellent multi-cultural awareness
