Volvo Group Associate Engineer in Greensboro, North Carolina

The Associate Engineer's job is to develop, release, and maintain functional Cab Engineering - Driver environment components such as Seats, Dash panels, HVAC, Steering and Pedal systems for use on Volvo and Mack Heavy Duty Trucks. The candidate will support a functional area of responsibility in the Application Center by developing engineering solutions for new products with latest technology and by working with cross functional teams. Furthermore, candidate will also assist in the development of potential design solutions, ensure Quality/Delivery/Cost/Feature (QDCF) targets are met, and release designs in a formal engineering process. The associate Engineer will work also with colleagues to secure small and large scale project deliveries. The candidate will also support in resolving maintenance, quality, and/or factory issues related to their components.

Core Responsibilities

  • Create or update CAD Models, Part Drawings, and Installation Drawings with CREO-Parametric

  • Resolve maintenance issues and secure project deliveries by releasing design changes

  • Ensure component durability by requesting analysis and/or test to learn activities

  • Communicate status of active project deliveries on a daily basis

  • Manage workload to ensure timely releases

  • Ensure QDCF targets are met for designs and projects

  • Apply Quality Tools during the design phase and release process

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Masters Degree preferred.

  • 0-1 Year of experience in

  • Product development and design experience

  • CATIA V5 with PDMLink is required
