Purpose and Contents of the Role

The internship role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment, and to support/promote the graduate's career goals through contact with professionals in their field of study. The internship experience enables students to participate in professional activities for Volvo by working on important and innovative projects. Internships are structured learning experiences where interns and our full time professionals work together on projects within their selected organization. The internship allows students to integrate knowledge and skills in a manner that is mutually beneficial to the student and Volvo.

Responsibilities / Main tasks / Targets

  • Pick up project of Identifying carts built in the facility and recording them along with creating a Preventative Maintenance schedule to keep them in good condition.

  • Create process for NRV Document Management System for Cart Preventative Maintenance.

  • Look at ways Autonomous Maintenance can be used in keeping the carts in good condition.

  • Create process for NRV Document Management System for Cart Autonomous Maintenance.

  • Work with Standardization Team to develop new ways of standardizing existing processes.

Essential Skills and Required Experience

Minimum Education Requirements

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Engineering or Management at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship

  • Student should have a minimum GPA of 3.0
