Volvo Group Intern: VPS Development (Spring 2019) in Dublin, Virginia

Pursues educational objectives in alignment with development, initiation and deployment of VPS People Development related practices, initiatives, programs, activities and endeavors. Works with all levels of the NRV organization.

Learning Objectives

  • Attains specific job-related skills: interviewing for information, facilitating a focus group, presenting

Project Goals

  • Improve performance development assessments to apply principles of learning and development (dialogue conversation guide, comment section, development plan)

  • Design, introduce and employ a system that addresses individual competency development on a plant wide basis (radar charts to development plan implementation)

  • Conduct qualitative (observation, focus groups and interviews) and quantitative research surveys to develop a blue collar generic position job role description

  • Enroll others through presentation and individual interactions

Educational Requirements

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Human Resources with a concentration in Organizational Development, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or Business and Industry Training and Development, Lean Manufacturing or similar/related subject area at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship

  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
