Job Summary

The purpose of this job is responsible for all production activities within assigned areas, which includes quality, delivery, cost and people initiatives, through the effective utilization of all employees. Leadership responsibility for the business area which requires effective coordination of all functional disciplines assigned to the respective area.

Core Responsibilities

  • Act as a leader for the business area and accountable for quality, delivery, cost and people concerns on a daily basis

  • Conduct meetings and organize performance reporting by business area

  • Institutionalize the total quality philosophy by creating an environment where all employees are customer focused and have increased opportunities to contribute to the success of the enterprise and the security of their future

  • Utilize the Kaizen approach to Continuous Improvement of Quality, Delivery and Cost by implementing effective measurement systems for monitoring progress

  • Work jointly with UAW officials to achieve an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect by sharing each other’s concerns

  • Responsible for promoting and reporting employees’ ideas and suggestions for improvements in areas of Cost, Quality, Safety, Housekeeping Methods and other areas

  • Development of Advisors and Team Leaders by demonstrating and instructing new skills and roles necessary to function in a Total Quality Environment

  • Champion the “Quality in Station” philosophy to all within spheres of influence

Minimum Education Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

Minimum Years of Experience Required

  • Four (4) years’ management experience required with educational requirements

Other Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Good understanding of the commercial vehicle industry

  • SPC – Statistical Process Control

  • Leadership Training – Covey or Equal
