Volvo Group Business Controller, Projects in Dublin, Virginia

Summary

The Business Controller, Projects will manage the financial aspects on a number of projects. This position will work closely with the Project Manager, and all other functions involved, securing the short and long term profitability targets. Focus will be on both delivering the projects within planned cost and validating the expected financial benefits of the projects.

As a self-driven, pro-active member of the Business Control team, the Business Controller, Projects must strategically plan to deliver the appropriate support to the Company. The Business Controller, Projects will participate in the development of the processes and will foster a dynamic working environment with all colleagues.

Core Responsibilities

  • Serve as Business Partner/Controller for project teams by coaching them in performance, cost deployment/continuous financial improvement and all financial matters

  • Monitor and prepare critical analysis of operating results and performance relative to financial plans and forecasts

  • Keep track of capital requirements, actual and forecast

  • Collect data, perform analysis, and report on key performance indicators for manpower and productivity

  • Coordinate activities to ensure compliance with internal audit, which includes support to process owners and managers, review and analysis of documentation, control testing, remediation plans, reporting of test results and other related activities

  • Ensure accurate and on time reporting in accordance with internal audit and financial policy guidelines

  • Support multifunctional teams

  • Follow the actual cost of projects, compare it to original estimate, budget and forecasts, explain the gaps, communicate and take corrective actions when necessary

  • Support the Project Management Team with sound advice

  • Secure robust and documented decision material for the management

  • Lead cost optimization and productivity improvements through a robust cost deployment process

Minimum Education Required

  • Minimum requirement of four (4) year college degree with a major in business, preferably finance or accounting

Minimum Years of Experience Required

  • Two (2) years’ to five (5) years’ experience in business and/or financial controlling
