Role Mission

The individual in this role will be responsible for establishing and executing sales processes in the Industrial group to effectively operate the business. This role is critical in ensuring the objectives and KPIs are translated into actions in the sales group, and in ensuring that targets are met. The processes are as wide ranging from engine order planning to marketing, taking into consideration resources of the company and the business development plans.

This role is also responsible for the effective operation of all internal functions, including Lexington and internal functional areas in Chesapeake, together with Industrial sales. Close working relationships are required with the Vice President of Industrial Sales, National Sales Manager, and heads of internal departments.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the KPI process for the sales managers and distribution network:

  • Develop and implemented KPIs for our sales managers to follow

  • Developing KPI for our sales distributor/power centers

  • Responsible for tracking this data as well meeting with sales managers to identify. Improvement areas and to recognize wins

  • Lead and participate in global supply and demand planning for the sales team

  • Responsible for Demantra forecasting process in order to maintain high forecast accuracy:

  • Input of data into the system, collection of data from market, customers and sales force

  • Responsible for ensuring the forecast is within the targets set globally

  • Responsible that the Industrial inventory in Lexington is within targets

  • Participate in the overall development of strategy and intelligence function within Volvo Penta – locally and globally

  • Lead and/or participate in strategic/business development projects. Analyze industry data in order to identify business opportunities. Analyze industry developments, competitor analysis, and its implications

  • Work on special projects per request and on issues that need more collaboration between our region and the head office

  • Work on specific projects that affect supply of engines, for example emission related issues

  • Responsible for the successful implementation of the CRM system:

  • Ensure the system is operating effectively as a prospecting tool

  • Work with the sales team to understand demands and meet expectations

  • Visit customers with sales persons and the execution of the sales process with customers and prospects. Identify and apply improvements to the sales processes based

Skills & Knowledge Required

  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with OEM accounts, dealers and other Volvo Penta departmental personnel

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision performing as a self-directed employee

  • High energy level, comfortable performing multiple assignments in conjunction with day to day activities

  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Products (Power Point, Excel, Word, etc.)

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Engineering or related field; or equivalent experience required. Master’s Degree Preferred

  • 2-3 years sales and marketing experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the industrial off-highway power industry

  • Previous managerial experience a plus
