The Remanufacturing organization comprises of about 800 employees in 7 locations world-wide. Our task is to remanufacture main components to the Volvo Group mainly Engines and Gearboxes including managing the cores. Remanufacturing services all Brands and Business Areas in the Volvo Group. The total Remanufacturing business in the Volvo group had 2017 a growth of 6%.

Mission and Purpose of the Position
The Site Director will lead all activities within the Remanufacturing site to secure the overall performance, quality and lead times. This position will be responsible for building networks with several internal and external areas throughout the value chain to secure business value, customer satisfaction, synergies/efficient product cost, product quality and people development. The Site Director will serve as a lean leader and drive the Volvo Production System (VPS) and lead the facility in the VPS journey.
The Remanufacturing Site Director reports to the VP Remanufacturing.
Overall responsibility to direct performance for the remanufacturing operation to meet customer satisfaction, safety, cost, quality and environmental targets connected with business plan and financial targets.
Be an active and collaborative team member in the global Remanufacturing management team.
Support other Remanufacturing sites as needed with knowledge transfer and material supply.
Engage in on-going performance management and career development dialogue with staff.
Participate in cross-functional meetings as required.
Foster employee satisfaction through collaborative efforts, idea generation and employee engagement activities.
Champion the culture in the organization and foster continuous improvement by the ongoing implementation and development of the VPS way of working within Remanufacturing.
Promote a professional, efficient and safe work environment.
Actively participate in new product development.
Manage product portfolio maintenance.
Domestic and international travel is occasionally required.
Minimum Education / Experience preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Engineering required
Master Degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred
7 to 10 years of experience in production operations to include a minimum of 5 years management experience preferred
Experience working in cross-functional and multicultural team
Knowledge of heavy equipment and automotive transportation industry preferred
Demonstrated lean manufacturing experience
Necessary Functional/Technical/Language Skills
Effective leadership and change management skills and lean (VPS) mind set
Ability to communicate effectively within a local and international environment
Strong skills in people development, leadership development and culture leadership
Ability to demonstrate a clear vision to direct reports and production staff
As all documentation is in English, proficiency in the English language is required
Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally
Must be proficient in the MS Office
