We have exciting opportunities for the right individuals at our 1,000,000 SF central Distribution Center in Byhalia, MS. The new Byhalia DC is located approximately 25 miles southeast of Memphis, TN.
The Maintenance Engineer are responsible for improving the maintenance activities, maintenance system, fleet system, safety, performance, specifications, and profitability of CDC operations and service offerings by applying engineering system and analysis to a variety of business opportunities and problems. Maintenance Engineer at the Byhalia CDC typically work as members of small teams focused on maintenance activities and projects in equipment and process, analysis and improvements for maintenance and warehouse, management science solution development, business intelligence and analytics. The successful candidate will possess a record of academic focus and leadership experience combined with demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills. Maintenance Engineer roles lead to a variety of technical and functional career path options within the Volvo Group organization.
Functions & Responsibilities:
Develop technical specifications of the machines in new projects in order to ensure proper maintenance and standardization within Volvo Logistic Services.
Maintains and revises documentation for equipment and server software installation and maintenance;
Support activities from VGRE (New projects and keep the electrical capacity for Byhalia Warehouse).
Analyze the maintenance system and ensure that it stays up-to-date.
Develop and optimize preventive maintenance plans.
In case of breakdowns, you make an analysis of the causes and formulate long-term solutions.
Implement problem solve methodology.
Develop SOP and process flow for maintenance activities.
Develop and modify working methods to increase efficiency and reduce intervention time (MTTR – Mean time to repair, MTBF – Mean time between failure).
Develop and following KPI`s for maintenance.
Describe the technical specifications for the maintenance contracts.
Ensure that critical parts are always available for the Maintenance department.
Keep the MHE Assignment
Keep and implement maintenance system and fleet system.
Contact with suppliers (lifts, batteries, conveyors, structure, crane, etc.).
Responsible for open PO and EBD for maintenance and Operational Support Department.
Implement projects with automation (Conveyors, SGV`s (autonomous equipment).
Looking for benchmark in maintenance area in Volvo Group and outside.
Communicate and sell improvement ideas to key decision makers.
Obtain feedback on proposed improvement ideas.
Provide technical development for new and existing decision support and business intelligence systems, databases, and programs.
Work according to (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environment and People).
Work with Engineer team to provide technical solutions for Byhalia Warehouse.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Industrial Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or a related field is preferred. Cooperative education/work minimum 5 years’ experience and campus involvement are preferred.
The ability to use and apply mathematical concepts such as statistics, linear programming optimization techniques, non-linear techniques, meta-heuristics, discrete-event simulation, and predictive modeling/forecasting techniques (time series models, neural networks, Bayesian techniques, etc.) is required.

Successful candidates will have a solid working knowledge of relational databases, computer programming, structured query language, and Microsoft Office Suite tools. Experience with programming languages such as C++, Java, Visual Basic, Bartender and CAD.
