Volvo Group Logistics Engineer in Plattsburgh, New York

Core Responsibilites

  • Define strategies to optimize processes and cost for the inbound and outbound processes

  • Assist manager from all Nova Bus sites to establish objectives for the inbound transportation cost

  • Work with Finance and Logistics site team to establish the freight target per site

  • Initiate activities with the collaboration of the Logistics’ manager from all Nova Bus sites to establish the conditions required to decrease freight cost and achieve target

  • Collaborate with supervisors and managers to ensure objectives are reached

  • Develop a plan to implement the use of V-emb for all Nova Bus sites

  • Responsible of the intern assigned to the deployment of the inbound processes improvement such as V-emb deployment

  • Assess the logistics practices and determine project with the collaboration of the Logistics managers to improve material inbound processes

  • Monitor Process adherence of the transport material activities in the BMS and develop plan to ensure integrity and efficiency. Identify risks & opportunities

  • Participate to the PMR and ensure Logistics needs are met

  • Collaborate with the 3PL partners to capture their needs to improve warehouse activities related to the inbound

  • Act as the liaison for all transportation contracts negotiated by Logistics service

  • Responsible of the relationship between Logistic Services and Nova Bus; drive the monthly meeting and prepare the quarterly review with this team

  • Responsible for the overview of the outbound processes management and the proposed plan for cost optimization and support contract renewal

  • Support and participate in continuous improvement efforts


  • Bachelor degree in operations management, supply chain, industrial engineering or other related field

  • 8-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in team leadership

  • Lean manufacturing experience

  • Strong computer skills (Office suite)
