Volvo Group Senior Manager, Training Support & Communications in Greensboro, North Carolina

Purpose of Position

Lead the Mack Trucks Academy and Volvo Trucks Academy (Academy) Training Support & Communications team. Provide the training processes, standards, tools, communications collateral and resources to drive the quality, consistency and customer experience of the training offering utilizing the Academy’s blended-learning strategy. Provide world-class dealer and customer training support for Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks dealers and customers in the US, CAN and MEX and Mack dealers globally. Articulate the Academy’s mission, vision, wanted position, values, and strategies in all training communications, marketing collateral and other touch points.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Academy Training Support & Communications team in the execution of the mission, vision, wanted position, values, strategic objectives and corresponding activities

  • Provide creative, editorial, design & development direction in the production and distribution of communications, digital media and publications

  • Collaborate with all functional areas of the Academy to provide support in customer facing activities including, but are not limited to, training center branding, dealer and customer facing web-sites, brochures and marketing and communications collateral, as well as, special events such as trade shows, conferences and competitions

  • Collaborate with corporate stakeholder organizations (Corporate Process and IT, Volvo IT/Learning services, Global Retail Competence Development) to fully understand business goals, objectives, key projects, and performance challenges

  • Lead the Academy Training Support team to develop and implement policies, procedures and processes, as well as, learning tools and technologies to support the execution of training solutions of the Academy business goals, objectives, key projects, and performance improvement initiatives as part of the annual strategic objectives.

  • Lead the Training Support team to provide reporting and analysis in support of the Academy training evaluation strategy ensuring that the training offering is of the highest quality, relevant to the targeted job role, impactful and cost-effective

  • Collaborate closely with the Training Branding & Customer Experience Manager to align all Academy Training Support & Communications with brand policies, guidelines, strategies, imaging and messaging in order to drive the ultimate Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks dealer and customer experience

  • Recruit, retain, and develop key talent within the Academy Training Support & Communications team.

  • Actively pursue and participate in training and education activities that improve instructional design and technology, project management, presentation and development skills, as well as, participate in industry conferences, exhibits, dealer meetings and other commercial activities with the goal of expanding industry knowledge and understanding of all activities and functions throughout the Sales and Aftermarket Channel

Essential Educational and/or Training Qualifications and Certificates

  • Bachelor's degree in , IT, Marketing & Communications, Instructional Design or equivalent related experience

Preferred Experience and Knowledge

  • 5 years of experience in automotive, construction, agriculture or MD/HD truck industries or equivalent leadership experience in Instructional Technology, Communications or IT

  • 3 years of experience managing a team

Other Requirements

  • Frequent travel required – domestic and international
