Summary

The purpose of this job is to provide professional support as a fully competent designer within a format engineering process or a major project. Performs routine and less complex engineering support tasks that support the mission of the unit, department and /or VTNA. Serves in a resource or support capacity for more complex assignments.

Core Responsibilities

  • Serves as full-performance designer in one or two responsibility areas with limited responsibility requiring ingenuity or originality

  • Plans and performs conceptual design projects within area of assignment: Heavy emphasis is placed on accuracy; accountability/ownership; adherence to formal internal and external standards, procedures and processes; and accurate, acceptable documentation

  • May serve as a design and/or CAD resource in primary area of assignment or performs duties in support of a larger project

Minimum Education and experience

  • A. Associate Applied Science degree in applicable Engineering Technology, or Associate Applied Science degree in Design and Drafting Technology

  • B. Successfully completed basic CAD training in a major CAD system, or ability to demonstrate equivalent CAD drafting skills
